Federal Express Corporation has announced an expedited delivery service for customers importing shipments into certain areas in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The service enhancement allows importers to receive their parcels and freight one day earlier, applicable to deliveries arriving during the weekdays. The updated service is available for customers utilizing FedEx International Priority Express, FedEx International Priority, FedEx International Priority Freight, FedEx International Economy, and FedEx International Economy Freight.

Koshigaya City is known for its active manufacturing sector, hosting many small and medium-sized enterprises. These businesses contribute to various industries including machinery, medical devices, sports equipment, food wholesale, automotive parts, and information communication technology equipment. Approximately 70% of FedEx customers in the area are part of these industries, which rely on timely delivery to uphold their global trade operations.

Kei Alan Kubota, the managing director of FedEx Japan, emphasized the importance of expedited delivery. “At FedEx, we recognize that a more connected and globalized economy has transformed the manufacturing landscape, with materials and components sourced from around the world,” he said. “The speed of delivery is critical for these businesses. We are committed to supporting importers by accelerating the delivery of shipments to the area, helping them maintain a competitive edge.”

In line with its ongoing optimization efforts, FedEx introduced a similar one-day faster delivery service earlier this year for select areas in Kyoto. The company's use of advanced technologies, such as FedEx Surround and the FedEx Import Tool, continues to enhance service offerings in Japan. These tools help improve shipment control, visibility, and address the complex nature of international trade.
