Eurowings, Germany's leading leisure airline, is introducing an innovative seat selection option, known as "Flieb’s Seats," specifically designed for singles interested in a unique blind dating experience during flights. This new initiative is part of the airline's efforts to create a distinctive travel experience by leveraging modern technology combined with in-person interactions.

Through the "Click & Connect" feature integrated into the booking process, passengers can now engage in blind dating 35,000 feet above ground. "Flieb’s Seats" provide a space where singles can meet potential matches based on personal dating preferences and smart matching algorithms. The airline is actively collaborating with major dating platforms to enhance this concept further.

Located strategically in the rear of the Airbus A320 fleet, a dedicated "Connecting Flight" area provides enhanced privacy for participants, complete with free center seats and discrete identification through a burgundy bracelet. This dating option is initially being offered free of charge during a testing phase.

Parallel to in-flight dating, Eurowings is collaborating with Cologne/Bonn Airport to launch "The Blind Gate," a pop-up bar meant for singles to mingle before their flights. Plans are underway to establish similar bars in other Eurowings locations, including Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Stuttgart, as well as Mallorca.

Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings, explained, "After blind booking, we are now offering blind dating – combining modern technology with in-person proximity. For us, this is one more way to fulfil our mission to get people where they want to be." Eurowings aims to provide more than just transportation from one point to another by facilitating new interpersonal connections among passengers.
