Los Angeles Airport Police announced that travel times to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) may be temporarily impacted by road closures at Sepulveda and Century Boulevards. The announcement was made on the social media platform X on March 28.

According to Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), intermittent overnight closures of the northbound and southbound ramps at Century and Sepulveda Boulevards have been implemented to facilitate construction activities for the Automated People Mover (APM) project. These closures are necessary to install foundations and prepare for the guideway installation over Sepulveda Boulevard. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly to accommodate potential delays.

As reported by LAWA, beginning at 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, the northbound and southbound ramps at Century and Sepulveda Boulevards were closed until 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, to facilitate K-rail placement in the area. These closures are part of ongoing efforts to enhance airport infrastructure and improve traffic flow around LAX.

According to Patch.com, a temporary overnight closure of Century Boulevard's eastbound lanes between Sepulveda and Airport Boulevards and westbound lanes between Airport Boulevard and Vicksburg Avenue was implemented until 7 a.m. Sunday. Such closures are part of the broader initiative to construct the APM, aimed at reducing congestion and improving passenger experience at LAX.

According to Wikipedia, the Los Angeles Airport Police is the airport police division of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), which owns and operates LAX and Van Nuys Airport. It is the largest airport police agency in the United States, with more than 1,100 officers, security personnel, and staff. The agency is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, employees, and facilities at LAX and Van Nuys Airport.
