Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced the blooming of cherry blossoms, marking the arrival of spring. The announcement was made on X on March 27.

According to The Times, Japan's cherry blossom season, known as sakura, is a significant cultural event symbolizing the transient nature of life. In 2025, peak bloom dates vary across the country, with Tokyo's cherry blossoms predicted to reach full bloom on March 30. Other notable locations include Yoshino in Nara Prefecture on April 9 and Himeji Castle on April 8.

As reported by Stars and Stripes, Tokyo's cherry blossom season officially began on March 24, 2025, when the Japan Meteorological Agency confirmed the first blooms on a specimen tree at Yasukuni Shrine. This event marked the start of the festive season in the capital, occurring five days earlier than the previous year. Cherry blossoms are Japan’s favorite flower and usually reach their peak in late March to early April, coinciding with the start of the new school and business year.
