Eurowings is set to enhance its partnership with Smartwings by extending its service network from Prague’s Václav Havel Airport. Starting in the winter season of 2025/26, Eurowings will commence direct flights to the Canary Islands, increasing travel options for passengers. Operated six times a week, the new routes include services to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife, supplementing Smartwings' current offerings.

The 2025 summer timetable features Smartwings' increased frequency of flights from Prague to the Canary Islands: daily trips to Tenerife, and twice-weekly flights to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. The next winter will introduce a codeshare arrangement where Eurowings will operate flights under Smartwings' flight numbers, providing more alternatives and enhancing travel flexibility for passengers.

Eurowings has also announced its membership in the Sunflower network, which aims to support individuals with non-visible disabilities. The Sunflower badge or lanyard is a symbol that conveys a need for additional assistance. "We are delighted to have joined this valuable initiative and to make a difference by providing attentive support along the journey with us,” said Lars Schmidt, who oversees inclusive and accessible travel at Eurowings. The initiative is designed to facilitate a more accommodating travel experience for those with non-apparent disabilities, particularly in bustling environments like airports.

Additionally, in an event coinciding with Girls' Day, Eurowings provided an immersive experience for 55 schoolgirls from the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf. The event aimed to inspire future female professionals by showcasing career opportunities in aviation and related fields. Participants explored the technology of an Airbus A319 and learned from female pilots and technicians, gaining insights into the industry, including aircraft mechanics training.
