Up to 23 transatlantic Boeing 757 flights will take place daily this summer, connecting the United States and Europe. Among these, 12 routes feature a maximum block time exceeding eight hours. The longest service, Newark to Stockholm Arlanda, will be operated by United Airlines and has a block time of 8 hours and 40 minutes. United Airlines dominates the market, accounting for 75% of these flights, surpassing the combined efforts of Icelandair and Delta.

Data from Cirium Diio reveals a 12% reduction in transatlantic 757 flights when compared to the previous summer. This decline is attributed mainly to Icelandair's decision to phase out the 757-300 and replace the 757-200 with more efficient models like the 737 MAX 8, 737 MAX 9, and A321LR.

A total of 25 transatlantic 757 routes are planned for this summer by United, Icelandair, and Delta, with some routes not operating frequently. All but two of these routes are United-operated, featuring block times of eight or more hours. The routes include the longest, the Newark to Stockholm service, until SAS exited Star Alliance and joined SkyTeam in September 2024.

Block time, as listed in timetables and booking engines, incorporates taxi times, flight duration influenced by wind conditions, and allows for minor delays. It also considers slot times at slot-controlled airports. The following routes will feature extended block times: Edinburgh to Chicago O'Hare at 8 hours and 35 minutes, Malaga to Newark at 8 hours and 35 minutes, and several others varying down to 8 hours and 5 minutes for destinations like Dublin to Washington Dulles.

United has a significant presence in Scandinavia, although it previously had more routes including Copenhagen, Oslo, and Bergen. Present operations are limited to its longest 757 service to Stockholm. Delta Air Lines maintains two transatlantic routes featuring the 757-200 variant, from Detroit to Keflavik and Minneapolis to Keflavik, with block times not exceeding 6 hours and 45 minutes.

United Airlines replaced Continental for the Newark to Stockholm service, which Continental initiated in 2005 with year-round 757 operations, reflecting shifts in various transatlantic markets over time.
