British low-cost airline easyJet is preparing for significant passenger numbers this Easter, with expectations of up to 4.2 million travelers flying with the airline during the holiday period. In response to customer preferences, the airline has introduced Crispy Chicken Nuggets to its onboard menu, viewed by many Brits as the ultimate comfort food.
This Easter, easyJet plans to operate close to 10,000 additional seats compared to last year, catering to families, friends, and solo travelers flying to destinations across Europe and Africa. Good Friday, April 18, is predicted to be the busiest travel day, with 262,000 passengers taking over 1,800 flights. Up to 145,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airline’s 21 UK airports on 1,101 flights.
Ahead of the Easter break, easyJet established a base at London Southend, its 10th in the UK. The new base provides 122 weekly flights, including routes to Antalya, Pisa, Dalaman, and Tenerife, enhancing customer connectivity from the UK. Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, noted, “Easter is one of our busiest times for travel for flights and package holidays, which sees millions of holidaymakers jetting off to enjoy some spring sunshine, hit the slopes, or visit friends and family. This year will be no exception, with up to three million of them expected to fly with easyJet for our unrivaled choice of destinations across Europe and beyond.”
