British low-cost airline easyJet is preparing for significant passenger numbers this Easter, with expectations of up to 4.2 million travelers flying with the airline during the holiday period. In response to customer preferences, the airline has introduced Crispy Chicken Nuggets to its onboard menu, viewed by many Brits as the ultimate comfort food.

This Easter, easyJet plans to operate close to 10,000 additional seats compared to last year, catering to families, friends, and solo travelers flying to destinations across Europe and Africa. Good Friday, April 18, is predicted to be the busiest travel day, with 262,000 passengers taking over 1,800 flights. Up to 145,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airline’s 21 UK airports on 1,101 flights.

Ahead of the Easter break, easyJet established a base at London Southend, its 10th in the UK. The new base provides 122 weekly flights, including routes to Antalya, Pisa, Dalaman, and Tenerife, enhancing customer connectivity from the UK. Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, noted, “Easter is one of our busiest times for travel for flights and package holidays, which sees millions of holidaymakers jetting off to enjoy some spring sunshine, hit the slopes, or visit friends and family. This year will be no exception, with up to three million of them expected to fly with easyJet for our unrivaled choice of destinations across Europe and beyond.”

The airline continues to offer competitively priced fares for Easter to numerous city and beach destinations. For late-season skiing enthusiasts, flights to Geneva and Grenoble are available. The airline has expanded its route offerings to include Sal (Cabo Verde) and Tbilisi (Georgia).

EasyJet holidays are on track to be the busiest ever, with hotspots like Dalaman, Majorca, and Tenerife being favored sunshine destinations. Popular city destinations include Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Paris. In North Africa, Enfidha and Marrakesh are top choices for travelers. EasyJet Holidays offers travel packages starting at $320 (£248) for travel until October 2026. The carrier will launch up to 110 routes this summer, supported by seven additional Airbus A320 aircraft.

In other updates, easyJet has revamped its onboard menu to feature new meal options, snacks, and beverages, alongside a selection of premium fragrance and beauty products. The newly named CAFE and SHOP range includes the Crispy Chicken Nuggets, regarded as the ultimate comfort food by many Brits, as well as items like the Gammon and Cheddar Cheese Toastie and Margherita Pizza. The line will also see new offerings like the Costa Coffee Iced Caramel Latte and an all-day breakfast wrap.

Russel Braterman, easyJet Inflight Retail Director, stated, "We always listen to our customers’ feedback, which is why we’ve introduced a number of delicious new additions to our CAFE menu as well as world-class premium brands in our SHOP, offering brilliant products for our range of customers and their needs as we fly them to destinations across Europe and beyond.”
