In a strategic move coinciding with the 2025 IATA summer schedule, British Airways has reinstated two holiday routes departing from London Heathrow Airport. The UK's flag carrier resumes flights to Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia and Shota Rustaveli International Airport in Tbilisi, Georgia, marking the return of these services after several years.

British Airways, under the leadership of CEO Sean Doyle and as a member of the IAG airline group, has introduced these routes with competitive base fares to capture passenger interest. The flight schedules are designed for optimal connectivity at London Heathrow. "We're delighted to welcome Malaysia and Georgia back to our network," stated Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Chief Planning & Strategy Officer. "Our teams have worked hard to bring these routes firmly back on our route map, meaning customers have more choice when it comes to travel for work or pleasure across Europe, Asia and beyond."

The Tbilisi route, the first Georgian flights since 2013, resumed on March 30th, operating four times a week. These flights, carried out on Airbus A320neo aircraft in a flexible two-class configuration, depart London at 21:25 and arrive in Tbilisi at 05:30 the following morning. The return flights leave Tbilisi on various mornings, concluding direct services offered from Heathrow, unlike easyJet, which flies from London Luton Airport.

Further east, the Kuala Lumpur route restarted on April 1st. Daily nonstop flights depart London at 21:10, reaching Malaysia the next day. The return flight leaves Kuala Lumpur late in the evening, reaching London by morning, utilizing four-class Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Passengers have the option to book codeshare flights with Malaysia Airlines.

Apart from these restored routes, British Airways has increased frequencies on its Tokyo Haneda service and added three new routes from London to Italian destinations—Rimini, Salerno, and Olbia—further expanding its short-haul network.
