Hainan Airlines has announced the launch of a new route connecting Kuala Lumpur and Haikou, with flights scheduled to operate four times weekly starting May 30. The announcement was made on the social media platform X on April 9.
The introduction of this route is expected to enhance connectivity between Malaysia and China's Hainan province, often referred to as the "Hawaii of the East" due to its tropical climate and tourist attractions. This development is anticipated to boost tourism and business exchanges between the two regions. According to the Asia-Pacific Airports’ official website, Hainan Airlines has been recognized as a 5-Star Airline by SKYTRAX for 13 consecutive years since 2011.
Currently, Firefly and Batik Air Malaysia provide non-stop flights between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK), with flight durations averaging between 3 hours and 30 minutes to 3 hours and 35 minutes. The addition of Hainan Airlines' service will offer travelers more options and flexibility. FlightsFrom.com notes that these existing services have been operational, providing consistent connectivity between the two cities.
