Five airlines operate between the United States and Europe with only one route each. These airlines—Air Tahiti Nui, Hainan Airlines, HiSky, Iberojet, and Singapore Airlines—stand out in a market with over 500 nonstop routes and 77.75 million passengers last year, based on Cirium Diio data.

Singapore Airlines joined this group recently after ending its longest one-stop flight between Singapore and Houston via Manchester. "Hainan Airlines does not have fifth freedom rights on this leg of its around-the-world service, its entry is contentious," but it qualifies due to its stop in Europe.

HiSky launched its Bucharest-New York JFK route in June 2024. The US Department of Transportation data shows Bucharest had not had flights to New York since Delta Air Lines ended the route in 2009. "It was served by TAROM until 2003," and "the traffic is relatively good (51,000 passengers in 2024)," though yields are further reduced by Bucharest's longer distance compared to other European routes.

Air Tahiti Nui flies between Los Angeles and Paris CDG with flights beginning or ending in Papeete. It has four weekly 787-9 flights with fifth freedom rights. Hainan Airlines resumed operations in 2024 on the Boston-Brussels route, part of its Beijing Capital-Boston-Brussels-Beijing Capital service. The Brussels stop serves as a tech stop and for crew change, with suboptimal headwinds making nonstop flights challenging.

Iberojet started its first US route from Madrid to Orlando International in June 2024, flying weekly between June 21 and September 13. As Orlando International Airport was initially served by Iberojet's 432-seat A350-900, it will switch to 388-seat A330-300s for this route. "96% of seats were filled," illustrating the need to balance "lower-yielding passengers with higher traffic volume."

Lastly, Singapore Airlines operates a daily Frankfurt-New York JFK service, with the route beginning or ending in Singapore. Its deployment of the 777-300ER was a shift from using the A380 until May 2023.
