London Heathrow, recognized as Europe's busiest airport, will soon experience an increase in its flight offerings by Oman Air. Currently, Heathrow is already Oman Air’s primary European market. The airline operates more flights to the London hub from its base in Muscat compared to other European cities such as Istanbul, Munich, and Paris.

Oman Air has announced plans to increase its flights to 11 weekly during the upcoming winter season running from October 26 to March 29. The airline also intends to implement a double daily service next summer, matching the frequency last seen in 2020. Oman Air's CEO has not made any public statements regarding these changes.

The congestion and slot constraints at Heathrow have led other airlines to opt for alternative UK airports. Gulf Air has introduced services from Bahrain to Gatwick, and Kenya Airways has plans to start operations at the UK’s second-busiest airport later this year. Oman Air, meanwhile, has managed to acquire additional slots to increase its flight frequency from Muscat.

Travelers can expect the new flights from Oman Air to be aboard the Boeing 787-9. The schedule indicates inbound services to the UK will arrive at 05:55, coinciding with JetBlue's planned winter operations, suggesting possible seasonal schedule changes.

Oman Air's enhanced offerings will enable it to secure a greater share of the local market, which saw around 80,000 round-trip passengers in 2024. The airline's upcoming membership with oneworld, set for June, promises increased connectivity with other key providers such as British Airways and American Airlines.

In November, London Heathrow will host increased flights to the Middle East, with Oman Air’s heightened frequency contributing to as many as 50 daily flights to the region. This enhancement comes amid other strategic changes in the area's aviation landscape, including British Airways' discontinuation of its Kuwaiti service and its resumption of flights to Tel Aviv.

The expanded schedules from Heathrow encompass routes to cities including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Doha, with British Airways, Etihad, and Qatar Airways among the prominent airlines operating these flights.
