American Airlines Cargo is preparing for an active summer season, benefiting from new flights and additional widebody capacity connecting the United States with Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Following a busy winter schedule, the company is set to expand its offerings, leveraging passenger widebody aircraft to enhance cargo capacity globally. This enhancement comes as American Airlines plans more than 4,000 monthly flights between the US and key European cities this summer.

In a statement, Roger Samways, American Airlines Cargo Vice President of Commercial, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming changes: "We are excited about the many new routes out of Europe as well as the increased capacity in our Asia-Pacific region that our summer schedule will bring and look forward to the additional opportunities that this will provide to serve our customers."

This month, new direct flights are being launched from major European cities to six destinations in the US. Italy will see flights from Venice to Dallas-Fort Worth, Milan to Philadelphia, Naples to Chicago-O’Hare, and Rome to Miami. The United Kingdom will gain a new service from Edinburgh to Philadelphia, and Spain will have new flights from Madrid to Chicago. Additionally, Athens will connect with Charlotte. As peak season approaches, additional routes and frequencies to Latin America will be introduced, with large aircraft being deployed on Asia-Pacific routes to boost capacity.

The airline will operate over 4,000 monthly widebody flights between the US and Europe from June to August, and flights from Miami to Buenos Aires will increase to two daily from April to October. Domestically, American Airlines maintains a substantial widebody network, connecting its Dallas-Fort Worth hub with Miami, Chicago, and Philadelphia. At London Heathrow, operations will rise to five daily flights this month, underscoring the carrier's significant presence there.

AA has integrated its operations at a new 120,000-square-foot facility at Heathrow, nearly doubling its original PMC pallets storage area. This move improves both cargo and passenger operations, alongside enhanced digital communication capabilities with its cargo handler, World Flight Services.

Currently, American Airlines operates its widebody network over approximately 60 routes from ten US airports to cities around the world, including key destinations across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. The company scheduled 5,046 widebody flights this month alone, spanning various regions. Passengers flying this summer will benefit from improved connectivity between the US and Europe, with over 70 daily departures to more than 20 transatlantic destinations.
