The aviation industry is a significant contributor to economic and social development, supporting over 8.3 million jobs and generating approximately USD 240 billion in GDP as of 2023. Projections suggest these numbers could nearly double by 2043, reaching 15 million jobs and a GDP contribution of USD 500 billion.

Bogotá was chosen as the conference venue due to the air transport sector's growing impact in Colombia. In 2023, this sector contributed USD 15.5 billion to the country's GDP and supported approximately 921,000 jobs.

The Wings of Change Americas Conference is part of a broader series, with additional events planned for Dakar, Senegal, and Brussels, Belgium, later this year.
