Aeroméxico announced it will be launching daily flights between San Luis Potosí and Atlanta starting on June 5. The announcement was made on X on April 3.

Aeroméxico's announcement of the new route aligns with its strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines to enhance connectivity between Mexico and the United States. The collaboration, established through a Joint Cooperation Agreement, aims to offer more flight options and improved service across the transborder market. According to Delta News Hub, the partnership has expanded the network to more than 90 daily flights on nearly 60 routes between the two countries.

This addition is part of Aeroméxico's broader initiative to increase its presence in the U.S. market, which includes launching 17 new routes from seven Mexican airports. As reported by GlobeNewswire, this expansion is facilitated by Aeroméxico's fleet modernization, incorporating over 50 new aircraft.

The Aeroméxico-Delta partnership has been instrumental in expanding transborder air travel, with plans to increase seat offerings by more than 30% by 2024. This growth includes nearly 60 daily frequencies to the United States by July 2024, representing a 35% increase in departures compared to 2023. According to Delta News Hub, the collaboration aims to serve 36 U.S. markets, reinforcing their commitment to providing extensive connectivity options.

Aeroméxico, Mexico's flagship airline, operates an extensive network of domestic and international flights across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Headquartered in Mexico City, the airline has undergone significant growth, including a fleet renewal and strategic partnerships to enhance its global reach. As reported by MarketWatch, Aeroméxico filed for an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, with backing from Apollo Global Management and Delta Air Lines, underscoring its commitment to expanding its international presence.
