Emirates, the international airline based in Dubai, is preparing to operate flights to 143 airports between May and December, according to OAG data. Among these, 13 destinations will experience sub-daily flights, with the recently introduced Siem Reap route featuring the fewest flights. "Siem Reap, Cambodia, is new to its network and has the fewest flights," it was noted.

The airline, which operates a fleet of 260 aircraft, including Boeing 777s, A380s, and A350s, ranks 49th globally in terms of flights but is fourth in available seat kilometers due to its substantial long-haul network. "If only long-haul markets were considered, Emirates would be second globally by flights (only United has more) and first by seats and ASKs," the release mentioned.

The sub-daily routes from Dubai include Siem Reap, with three weekly flights aboard a Boeing 777-300ER starting June 3, and Da Nang in Vietnam, which will have four weekly flights. Both these routes will operate via Bangkok. Notably, these routes are positioned to cater to tourists and those visiting friends and relatives, with Emirates being the only Middle Eastern carrier to serve these locations.

Among other destinations with sub-daily frequencies are Conakry and Dakar, each with four weekly flights following a triangular pattern from Dubai. Additional destinations like Buenos Aires, Luanda, and Orlando have five weekly services, with Buenos Aires connected via Rio de Janeiro, which carries "fifth freedom rights."

Orlando, which began being served in September 2015, is observed to have the least number of flights among U.S. airports serviced by Emirates. The route has seen sub-daily operations for some time, partly due to filling approximately 74% of available seats last year, lower than both the U.S. and company averages.

Emirates' service to Buenos Aires, which operates via Rio de Janeiro, is noted as the airline's fifth-longest passenger route, covering 7,494 nautical miles. Since its inception in January 2012, the service has remained essential for connectivity, particularly for the Asia-Pacific region.

Looking forward, the airline is contemplating adjustments, such as potentially deploying lower-capacity A350s or future 787s on routes like Orlando to better align capacity with demand.

Emirates continues to expand its network with thoughtful consideration of route efficiency and market demand, maintaining its role as a major player in the global aviation landscape.
