JetBlue has announced the reintroduction of two routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, with year-round services to Philadelphia and Guayaquil, Ecuador. According to the airline, the flights to Philadelphia will start on July 3 and the services to Guayaquil will begin on July 17.

The Philadelphia service will operate twice daily using Airbus A320 aircraft. The first flight, B62016, is scheduled to depart Fort Lauderdale at 08:00 and land in Philadelphia at 10:50. The return flight, B6429, will leave Philadelphia at 11:45, arriving back in Fort Lauderdale at 14:35. The second daily flight, B62022, will leave Fort Lauderdale at 16:10, with arrival in Philadelphia set for 19:00. The return from Philadelphia, B6217, will depart at 19:55, landing at 22:45.

Services to Guayaquil will also use Airbus A320 aircraft and operate once a day. Flight B61255 is set to depart Fort Lauderdale at 10:00, reaching Guayaquil by 13:30. The return journey, B61256, will leave Guayaquil at 14:40 and will land in Fort Lauderdale at 20:09.

“The return of service from Fort Lauderdale to Philadelphia and Guayaquil reflects JetBlue’s ongoing commitment to being able to respond to customer demand and strategic opportunity," said the airline. JetBlue emphasized its goal of providing a high-value experience and attractive fares.

Daniel Shurz, JetBlue’s Head of Revenue, Network, and Enterprise Planning, noted that the flights returning to these cities would enhance value, choice, and convenience for customers. He added that it would strengthen JetBlue's position in South Florida by integrating more destinations into its leisure network.

Data from Cirium’s Diio Mi airline planning tool reveals that JetBlue scheduled a slight increase in weekly flights from Fort Lauderdale, though still fewer seats compared to July 2024. Notable adjustments in the competitive landscape include Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines reducing their presence on these routes.

Previously paused as part of a network optimization, JetBlue's last flights from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil were in October 2024, with services to Philadelphia ending in June 2022. Recent market shifts, including the absence of Spirit Airlines flights to Guayaquil and reductions in flights to Philadelphia by other carriers, present renewed opportunities for JetBlue.
