The top ten US airlines, consisting of both legacy and low-cost carriers, are setting records with millions of seats available for domestic and international flights. Industry giants such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines stand out for their vast reach, serving over 350 destinations each. The OAG data reveals that in April alone, these carriers collectively offer over 93 million seats.

Hawaiian Airlines, founded in 1929, is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. A major player in the region, it offers 1.13 million seats this month. Notable for serving the island state of Hawaii, Hawaiian Airlines also reaches Pacific islands and the US mainland. Allegiant Airlines, established in 1997, operates from Las Vegas, Nevada, and serves over 120 destinations, providing 1.88 million seats this April.

JetBlue Airways, with its headquarters in New York and founded in 1998, is a prominent low-cost carrier in the US, offering over 3.43 million seats. Meanwhile, Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines, both known for their budget-friendly operations, rank higher with 3.56 million and 3.59 million seats, respectively. Frontier, founded in 1994 in Denver, Colorado, and Spirit, established in 1983 in Florida, both focus on the Americas.

Alaska Airlines, the fifth-largest in the US, offers 4.54 million seats. Operating since 1932 and headquartered in SeaTac, Washington, it extends its services significantly beyond its regional focus. United Airlines, based in Chicago and founded in 1926, offers a notable 16.1 million seats, reflecting a 6.5% capacity increase from the previous year. With its extensive reach, United remains a leader in fleet size and passenger numbers globally.

Delta Air Lines, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia since its inception in 1925, maintains a formidable presence with 18.9 million seats this month, marking a 4% increase. Recognized for both revenue and market share, Delta continues to be a dominant force in the industry. Southwest Airlines and American Airlines, however, hold the top spots. Southwest, founded in 1967 and based in Dallas, provides 19.1 million seats. American Airlines, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas since 1926, leads with 21.4 million seats, maintaining a 21% market share.

The robust capacities of these airlines are indicative of their significant role in connecting a vast network of destinations, both domestic and international, while adapting to shifting market demands and opportunities.
