John Wayne Airport released its passenger and operational statistics for February 2025, showing a decrease in passenger numbers and an increase in total aircraft operations compared to the same period last year. The airport recorded a total of 783,496 passengers in February 2025, a drop of 8.5% from February 2024.

Despite the decline in passengers, total aircraft operations rose by 4.5%, accounting for 21,677 flights in February 2025. General aviation operations experienced a notable increase of 9.3%, while commercial operations fell by 5.9%. Commuter flights saw a significant rise of 37.8%, and military operations increased by 28.6%.

International passenger figures also saw a decrease, with 23,429 passengers, representing a 15.8% decline from the previous year. International aircraft operations fell by 10.5% compared to February 2024.

Air cargo tonnage showed a slight increase of 1.0%, totaling 1,215 tons, while year-to-date cargo tonnage decreased by 15.8%.
