An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9, flying as flight AS474, managed to land safely at San Diego International Airport on April 3, 2025, after experiencing a tire malfunction during takeoff from Atlanta. The incident, which was reported at around 17:30 local time by the Aviation Herald, involved a blown tire that occurred as the aircraft was departing Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The flight was carrying 165 passengers and six crew members at the time of the incident. Despite the tire issue, the aircraft was able to complete its journey to San Diego without further complications. There were no reported injuries to passengers or crew.

Alaska Airlines has not released additional details about the incident or any potential investigations into the cause of the tire blowout.
