David Neeleman founder and CEO of Breeze Airways | Official Website

David Neeleman, the Founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, has announced the airline's ambitious goal to serve over 150 cities by 2030. Speaking at the Center for Aviation (CAPA) Leader Summit, Neeleman, who also played a significant role in founding Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, JetBlue, and WestJet, explained that Breeze Airways intends to expand beyond its current network of over 275 routes, which serve 70 cities across 31 U.S. states.

Neeleman highlighted Breeze Airways' mission to simplify travel from secondary cities and reduce the need for multiple connections. He stated, "Breeze Airways was founded to remove the barriers to traveling from secondary cities, including reducing the number of connections travelers have to take to fly to their destinations."

The airline recently achieved its first quarterly operating profit in Q4 2024, bringing in more than $200 million in revenue with an operating margin exceeding 4%. Throughout 2024, Breeze Airways' revenue soared to over $680 million, marking a substantial increase of over 78% from the previous year. However, specifics regarding the net profit or loss for the year were not disclosed.

Breeze carried more than 4.2 million passengers in 2024 and expects to launch international nonstop flights by the year's end. Currently, Breeze's operations are primarily domestic, with plans to execute 1,308 direct flights within the United States weekly. The busiest airports scheduled for July 2025 operations include Tampa, Charleston, Orlando, Bradley, and Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airports. The airline predominantly uses Airbus A220-300 aircraft, supported by a fleet that comprises E190s and E195s.

Lukas Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Breeze Airways, cited the importance of the Airbus A220-300 in the airline's strategy. Johnson remarked, "The carrier’s key to success lies in the ability to leverage the unique size and efficiency of the A220-300." He further stated, "That, combined with our ability to put planes where and when they'll be most successful, is what truly makes Breeze stand out in the industry."

The A220-300 is configured to accommodate 12 seats in 'Breeze Ascent,' along with 45 extra legroom seats and 80 standard seats. Breeze Airways continues to pursue expansion, adding new routes from states including New York, Florida, and the Carolinas.
