German leisure airline Condor has launched a "Match the Stripes" contest to celebrate the third anniversary of its striped livery. Passengers can win a 10-euro voucher for matching their attire to the aircraft's colorful exterior stripes during flights in April 2025. The striped livery, which debuted in April 2022, features six colors: sunshine (yellow), passion (red), sea (blue), island (green), beach (beige), and pink for breast cancer awareness, added in September 2024.

The vouchers can be redeemed on board for food and drinks or merchandise. Condor’s strategy is aimed at creating a fun and engaging experience for travelers while promoting its brand. The contest includes rules specifying that passengers must wear shirts or dresses with alternating white stripes that match the aircraft's colors.

Condor's pilot joke suggests a passenger vote for stripe colors, but in reality, colors are predetermined. The airline completed repainting its entire fleet with the striped livery, covering models such as Airbus A320-200 and Boeing 757-300.

Information on the specific stripe colors for each flight is made available online two days prior, allowing passengers to plan their attire accordingly. As part of the contest, flight crews are responsible for judging the correctness of passengers' matching outfits. "Easy — Condor will tell you," is how the airline suggests finding out the colors.

Voucher winners receive an additional benefit—a code to create a photo postcard of their outfit via the My Postcard website or app. This initiative aims to add a touch of fun to the boarding experience, enhancing customer satisfaction during travel.
