Ryan Abram Chief Operating Officer - Airport Operations | dnata

dnata is showcasing its commitment to significant global investments in infrastructure at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Dubai. The company is launching three major facilities, with investments totaling over US$ 110 million, as part of its strategy to enhance cargo and logistics capabilities worldwide.

New facilities in the Netherlands, UAE, and Iraq are scheduled to become operational in 2025. Clive Sauvé-Hopkins, dnata’s CEO of Airport Operations, stated, “As supply chains evolve and customer expectations shift, we’re focused on investing in infrastructure that’s fit for purpose today and adaptable for tomorrow.”

The Amsterdam facility, known as dnata Cargo City Amsterdam, will open in July 2025 at Schiphol Airport. The US$ 70 million investment includes a fully automated cargo center spanning 61,000 m² and is designed to process over 850,000 tonnes of cargo annually. In Erbil, Iraq, a US$ 15 million facility will triple the company's handling capacity to 66,000 tonnes per year and include dnata’s ‘OneCargo’ system for automating various functions. In Dubai, a US$ 27 million, 57,000 m² cargo center will be established in Dubai South to handle up to 400,000 tonnes of cargo annually.

dnata executives are also participating in discussions at the symposium. Clive Sauvé-Hopkins, Carly Abbott, Noor Salman, Guillaume Crozier, Syed Haris Raza, and Sam Gould are contributing insights on topics from digital transformation to sustainability in the cargo industry.

dnata continues to be a prominent global provider, offering ground handling and cargo services at over 90 airports across 16 countries. In the financial year 2023-24, the company handled 2.9 million tonnes of cargo, reflecting 5% growth from the previous year.
