Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia have introduced a new initiative titled 'Dine on Us,' aimed at providing complimentary dining experiences to their frequent flyer members. Starting from June 12, members of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer program traveling between Australia and Doha will receive a $20 dining voucher. This voucher is redeemable at over 50 restaurants and cafés at Doha's Hamad International Airport.

This initiative supports Virgin Australia's plans to resume long-haul international services while Qatar Airways continues to expand its presence in the Australian market. 'Dine on Us' will be available for a year, concluding on June 11, 2026, and is accessible to all membership tiers. It is applicable to flights operated by either Qatar Airways or Virgin Australia as part of their codeshare agreement. Travelers can access this offer by including their loyalty number during the booking or check-in process.

Participating outlets where the vouchers can be used include Ralph’s Coffee, Oreo Café, Gordon Ramsay Burger, Street Pizza, and Harrods Tea Room. Certain high-profile outlets such as Starbucks and the Louis Vuitton Lounge are not part of the offer. Nick Rohrlach, CEO of Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer program, expressed pride in this new benefit, stating, "The Dine on Us initiative is all about rewarding our Velocity members with an elevated travel experience. We want them to enjoy some of the best airport dining in the world."

The airlines have also been working on enhancing the travel experience for their loyalty program members. This includes extra points, additional baggage allowance, priority boarding, lounge access, and more. Their codeshare agreement, established in 2022, has significantly improved connectivity, offering Qatar Airways passengers access to 35 destinations within Australia and Virgin Australia travelers over 150 global destinations.

Virgin Australia plans to resume its long-haul operations in June with 28 weekly flights to Doha from major Australian cities, operated under a wet-lease agreement with Qatar Airways. These flights will feature QSuite business class and complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi.

In addition, Qatar Airways is planning to resume daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne, which will become its sixth Australian gateway. The airline has recently secured a 25% stake in Virgin Australia from Bain Capital, boosting its influence in the market. Qatar Airways is known for its investments in passenger comfort and new technologies, such as the integration of Starlink high-speed internet across its fleet.
