Cessna Citation Sovereign | Wikipedia

Harrison Ford, an acclaimed actor known for roles such as Han Solo in "Star Wars" and Indiana Jones, is also a noted aviation enthusiast. With a net worth of over $300 million, Ford owns several aircraft, including a Cessna Citation Sovereign. This private jet, known for its dark green and white livery, often operates from Hawthorne Municipal Airport, near Ford's California home. Earlier this year, it was temporarily based in Wichita, Kansas, likely for maintenance, given Cessna's significant presence in the area.

Ford flies his Cessna Citation Sovereign to various destinations, such as McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville and Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. The aircraft is distinct for its capacity to seat nine to twelve passengers and features a Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D engine. Its registered owner is a company in Santa Monica, California.

The Citation Sovereign, a product of Cessna introduced in 2004, was designed to fill a gap in the midsize jet market. Over 400 units were built before the model was discontinued in favor of newer designs.

Ford's interest in aviation began in the 1960s, and despite a temporary pause in training, he later acquired a Gulfstream II and continued flying lessons. Today, Ford pilots both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, often using them for public service in places like Wyoming. As the former chairman of the EAA's Young Eagles program, he remains active in aviation circles, including the Wings of Hope organization.

Despite his aviation accomplishments, Ford has encountered several incidents. In 1999, he was involved in a helicopter crash near Santa Clarita, California, and in 2015 he made an emergency landing on a golf course. More recently, in 2017 and 2020, he faced scrutiny for landing and taxiway incidents.

Ford's continued involvement in flying is supported by his membership in organizations like the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and his role as an honorary board member for Wings of Hope.
