Federal Express Corporation has introduced a new service to enhance connectivity between Southeast Asia and the United States. The new direct flight route from Singapore to Anchorage positions FedEx as the sole logistics provider offering a nonstop connection from Singapore to the United States. Key industries such as aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing, high-tech, and semiconductor materials are expected to benefit from improved supply chain efficiency and connectivity to major US markets. This development is also anticipated to support business growth in Southeast Asia, particularly in rapidly growing economies like Indonesia.

The service will operate six times weekly using a dedicated Boeing 777 freighter, departing from FedEx South Pacific Regional Hub at Singapore's Changi Airport. Shipments from Indonesia will first be consolidated in Jakarta and then transported to Singapore for the direct flight to Anchorage. Additionally, there is a once-a-week direct flight from Anchorage to Singapore that is planned to increase to five flights per week in the summer to ensure smooth bilateral trade. Businesses shipping from this dynamic region will enjoy enhanced connectivity when importing and exporting to the US.

Trade between Southeast Asia and the United States remains vital, driven by e-commerce, advanced electronics, and manufactured goods. As a major manufacturing center in Southeast Asia, Indonesia will benefit from this new flight route, especially for key commodities such as machinery and electrical equipment, apparel, footwear, animal and vegetable oils, and rubber, with the United States being a main trading partner.

"The launch of the direct flight route to the United States will significantly enhance Indonesia's access to the US market, providing local businesses with faster connections to their customers," said Garrick Thompson, Managing Director FedEx Indonesia. "With this route, we are aiding in more reliable and efficient shipping – a crucial advantage for businesses operating in a dynamic global economy. As supply chains rapidly evolve, FedEx remains committed to offering smarter and more efficient logistics solutions to help Indonesian businesses seize global opportunities."
