Federal Express Corporation has launched its first direct all-cargo flight from Singapore to Anchorage, strengthening the trade corridor between Southeast Asia and the United States. This new service positions FedEx as the only logistics provider with a non-stop connection from Singapore to the continental U.S., benefiting industries such as aerospace, healthcare, industrial, high-tech, and semiconductor materials.

Operating six times a week, the flight departs from FedEx's South Pacific Regional Hub at Changi Airport using a Boeing 777 freighter. A return flight from Anchorage to Singapore occurs once weekly, with an expansion plan to five flights per week during the summer to support a seamless flow of goods. The direct flight enhances transit times, allowing shipments collected in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand on Saturday to reach the U.S. by Monday, improving connectivity for businesses in the region.

This development strengthens Singapore's status as a key logistics and air cargo hub for Southeast Asia. The service supports the trade flow between the region and the U.S., driven by e-commerce, high-tech electronics, and manufactured goods, reinforcing FedEx's role in global supply chains.

Kawal Preet, president of FedEx Asia Pacific, stated, "At FedEx, we’re revolutionizing logistics by building smarter logistics networks that accelerate global trade, enhance speed, and boost efficiency." Preet emphasized Singapore's strategic location and infrastructure as vital to international commerce, enabling regional businesses to expand with increased agility and competitiveness.

Chan Ih-Ming, Executive Vice President of the Singapore Economic Development Board, remarked on the significance of the new route: "FedEx’s new direct cargo route signifies a milestone for their South Pacific Regional Hub and aligns with Singapore’s position as a global air cargo hub."

The launch marks a critical milestone in FedEx's long-term investment in Singapore, following the setup of its regional headquarters in February 2024. The initiative underscores the company's commitment to supporting Singapore's aspirations of becoming a premier logistics and supply chain hub in the Asia Pacific.
