Breeze Airways will launch three new routes from Florida to secondary cities in the Northeast United States this September. These routes include flights to Akron, Ohio, where Breeze Airways recently established a base with support from the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) through tax assistance.

Starting in September, Breeze Airways will operate flights from Westchester County Airport to Jacksonville International Airport and from Palm Beach International Airport to Akron-Canton Airport and Richmond International Airport. These flights will be operated using the A220-300 aircraft and will be scheduled for two weekly departures, with specific days allocated for each route.

According to Cirium’s Diio Mi data, Breeze Airways will be the sole direct service provider for these routes, a distinction long held by other airlines as one-stop services. Historically, airlines like AirTran Airways, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Southwest Airlines have only operated one-stop flights on these routes. Breeze Airways has previously offered direct services from Palm Beach to Akron and Richmond and Westchester to Jacksonville with varying frequencies.

Breeze Airways plans to increase its presence in Florida, projecting a significant year-on-year growth in both direct flights and weekly seats from the state. The airline's expansion includes 56 new direct routes, many of which will feature twice-weekly connections.

A new pilot base in Akron will support these operations. According to Breeze Airways, the Akron base will create more than 60 local jobs, including positions for pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance personnel, with an accompanying $11 million payroll benefit to the community.
