Etihad Airways has announced its plans to operate the Airbus A350-1000 to ten destinations between April and December 2025. The airline's initial passenger-carrying flight with this type of aircraft took place in March 2022 on the Abu Dhabi to Paris CDG route. Since then, the A350-1000 fleet has expanded to six aircraft, with the latest addition arriving in Abu Dhabi from Toulouse in early April.

Among the ten destinations planned for the A350-1000, four are new to this aircraft model: Amsterdam, Atlanta, Frankfurt, and Milan Malpensa. The airline will also resume A350 flights to New York JFK, where it last operated the aircraft in January 2024. Chicago O'Hare stands out as the destination with the highest number of planned A350 flights, having hosted the aircraft since June 2022.

Atlanta is of particular interest as it will become a new point on Etihad’s network. Flights to this city will commence on July 2, initially operating four times a week, before increasing to a daily service later in the year. The route will cover 6,622 nautical miles, making it the longest in Etihad's network, surpassing the Abu Dhabi to Sydney route.

The schedule includes daily services to several established locations such as Delhi and Mumbai with variations during specific periods. Moreover, while Toronto receives daily flights from the A350 until late June, it will transition to A380 services subsequently.

The review of Etihad's past operations indicates the withdrawal of A350 services from several airports, including Zurich, Paris CDG, and Dublin. These changes reflect Etihad's strategy and fleet optimization efforts moving forward.

Etihad Airways continues to maintain a significant presence across the North Atlantic, aided by its diverse widebody fleet. The average flight distance covered by the A350 during the scheduled period will be approximately 4,028 nautical miles, aligning with its robust North American operations.
