Alaska Airlines is introducing new meal options this spring, expanding its culinary partnership with chef Brandon Jew and launching a plant-based dish for its Main Cabin. The airline seeks to refine its in-flight dining experience by offering chef-curated meals inspired by the culinary expertise of Jew, a James Beard Award-winning chef known for his restaurant, Mister Jiu's, in San Francisco.

Alaska Airlines continues its partnership with Jew by making his Cantonese-inspired dishes available on more First Class routes, including flights from San Francisco to destinations like Boston, Orlando, and Washington D.C. "I’m grateful to Alaska Airlines for partnering with me in honoring my roots and continuing to bring Chinese food to guests traveling from coast to coast," said Jew. His new menu includes dishes such as Hong Kong French Toast and Tea-Smoked Soy Chicken.

Todd Traynor-Corey, Alaska Airlines' Vice President of Products and Experience, lauded Jew's innovative approach. "Chef Jew’s innovative approach and ability to craft dishes that appeal to a wide range of tastes make him the ideal partner – and this is just the beginning," he stated.

In addition to its First Class offerings, Alaska Airlines is expanding its Main Cabin menu with a new plant-based grain bowl created in collaboration with Evergreens, a Seattle-based fast-casual restaurant. The dish, called the Best Laid Plants grain bowl, will be available for pre-order on flights over 1,100 miles. "This fresh, flavorful dish is not only a healthy choice — it’s good for the planet," said David Rodriguez, Food and Beverage Planning and Programs Manager at Alaska Airlines.

The full spring menu will be available across all cabins, further fueled by Alaska Airlines' pre-order program. Evergreens' head chef, David Kairis, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We’re thrilled to partner with Alaska Airlines to bring one of our most craveable, plant-based bowls to the skies," he said.
