Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants have voted to extend their labor agreement with the airline. This decision aligns the amendable dates for both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants as the companies prepare for a joint agreement in the future. The previous contract for Hawaiian Airlines' attendants was set to be amendable in April, leading to negotiations initiated in March for a unified contract for cabin crew members from both airlines.

On April 17, Hawaiian Airlines announced its flight attendants ratified a three-year contract extension with an 88% approval rate. The agreement, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-Communications Workers of America (AFA-CWA), includes pay increases, retirement improvements, enhanced profit sharing, and inclusion in Alaska Airlines' profit sharing program. Lokesh Amaranayaka, the Vice President of Airport and In-Flight Operations at Hawaiian Airlines, stated the importance of reaching this agreement, acknowledging the essential role of flight attendants in ensuring guest safety and exceptional service. "We deeply value the role our flight attendants have in the success of our company, and this contract extension positions us well for the future of our combined airlines."

The previous contract became amendable in April 2025, sparking negotiations for a Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) among more than 9,200 flight attendants under Alaska Air Group. Joni Kashiwai, Negotiations Chair of Hawaiian Airlines at AFA-CWA, emphasized that the extension provides stability and improvements as joint contract discussions commence.

During the 52nd AFA-CWA Board of Directors Conference, the Hawaiian Airlines chapter of the AFA was officially recognized as part of AFA Alaska-Hawaiian. The merger concluded in September 2024, marking a significant transition acknowledged by the Board.

Alaska Airlines’ AFA-CWA has also advanced negotiations, focusing on merging two strong and complex contracts. Talks began on March 18, and tentative agreements were achieved in areas such as non-discrimination, contract purpose, and more. The JNC continues monthly sessions with airline management to finalize a beneficial language for both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines attendants.
