Bombardier Global 8000 | Bombardier

The Bombardier Global 8000, an ultra-long-range business jet, is set to become the world's fastest private jet when it enters service later this year. Designed by Bombardier Aerospace, the aircraft reaches a maximum speed of Mach 0.94, surpassing other civilian jets since the retirement of Concorde in 2003.

Bombardier claims that the "Global 8000 is the world’s fastest civilian aircraft since Concorde with a top speed of Mach 0.94," and it offers the only business jet capable of cruising with four true living spaces over a range of 8,000 nautical miles. This will provide business and leisure passengers with a comfortable travel experience.

During flight tests, the Global 8000 exceeded the speed threshold for civilian aircraft, reaching Mach 1.015, a speed not attained since Concorde. Although not offered for commercial use due to regulations, this achievement highlights the aircraft's potent capabilities.

"The Global 8000 was designed with a mindset of delivering our clients the ultimate, no-compromise aircraft," said Emmanuel Bornand, Vice President of International Sales at Bombardier Aerospace, in an interview with the South China Morning Post. This forward-thinking design merges high-speed travel with a comfortable cabin, offering long-range capabilities and access to smaller airports.

In addition to speed, the jet can reach 8,000 nautical miles non-stop, connecting major cities across the globe, such as Los Angeles to Singapore and Dubai to Houston. The aircraft’s ultra-high-speed cruise range reaches up to 4,200 nautical miles.

Comfort is key, with Bombardier ensuring "the only one to offer the comfort of four spacious suites and a range of 8,000 NM," enabling passengers to enjoy luxury without compromising on the cabin space. A significant feature is the innovative Soleil lighting system, which adjusts the cabin environment to reduce jet lag.

Bombardier emphasizes that their "Pũr Air features a hospital-grade HEPA filter," which effectively captures up to 99.99% of particles.

The Global 8000 also boasts innovative wing technology to minimize turbulence, described by Bombardier as providing "the smoothest ride and the best all-weather performance," thanks to its dual-function wing design.

In terms of cockpit technology, Bombardier Aerospace highlights the aircraft’s offerings: "Experience the comfort of the most spacious cockpit and crew quarters in the industry, the precision of cutting-edge fly-by-wire technology, and the power of advanced automation."
