Avelo Airlines has announced adjustments to its summer schedule by terminating seven routes, with a significant impact on its operations from Concord, North Carolina. These changes involve discontinuing services from Concord-Padgett Regional Airport to several destinations, as well as routes from Santa Rosa Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport.
From Concord, the airline will cease flights to Albany, Detroit, Lakeland, Nashville, and Washington Dulles airports, with new routes to Detroit and Washington never having started. Simultaneously, from Santa Rosa, the airline will stop service to Boise and Salt Lake City by the end of August.
Load factors appear to have influenced these decisions. Avelo experienced less-than-ideal load factors, peaking during certain months but generally falling below competitors' benchmarks. The airline began these routes comparatively recently and held a monopoly on direct flights before pulling back.
