An engine fire incident involving a Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-300 occurred at Orlando International Airport, leaving passengers to evacuate via slides. The Atlanta-bound flight DAL1213 was preparing for departure when the right engine caught fire shortly after pushback from gate 94. MCO officials confirmed the incident happened around 11:00 AM, with a spokesperson saying the fire "was contained and is out."

Both passengers and crew members, totaling 292 people, safely evacuated the aircraft. No injuries were reported. Delta has assured its passengers that safety is their priority and expressed regret over the incident. The airline is organizing a replacement flight to ensure passengers continue their journey to Atlanta.

Video footage captured the engine fire and black smoke, drawing attention to the operational procedures that followed. The first responders at the scene swiftly extinguished the fire. Delta's flight data indicates that aircraft N826NW will now continue the flight after being ferried from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

This incident adds to a series of engine-related events in recent months, highlighting ongoing safety challenges in the aviation industry. The affected aircraft, N807NW, has an operational history of over 92,000 flight hours and was originally delivered in 2004. Further details about the damage to the aircraft are not yet available, but some damage to the right-hand side flap track fairings has been reported.

Flight schedules, particularly for Delta's international services, may face delays while replacement arrangements are made.
