Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to introduce a new in-flight dining experience named 'Flavors by SAS,' expanding on its previous 'New Nordic' menu launched in 2017. The airline has announced the new menu will debut with their revamped European Business Class on October 1, 2025, with plans to extend its availability to SAS lounges and intercontinental flights. This new concept aims to offer passengers a larger array of international cuisine, moving beyond its previous focus on Scandinavian dishes.

Aron Backström, Vice President Product & Loyalty at SAS, explained the vision behind the new menu: "While SAS has always been about bringing Scandinavia to the world, this new concept, Flavors by SAS, brings the world to Scandinavia, incorporating bold and diverse flavors inspired by Europe, the U.S., Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean."

The airline plans to tailor its meal service according to flight specifics, allowing passengers to customize their trays and reduce onboard waste by replacing single-use items with porcelain mugs and stainless-steel utensils in business class.

The introduction of 'Flavors by SAS' coincides with the comeback of a European-style Business Class, a decision fueled by increased demand for premium products. Although tickets go on sale May 6, 2025, passengers can experience the updated service beginning October 1, 2025.

The return of the European Business Class marks a shift for SAS, which discontinued it in March 2013 to focus on the SAS Go and SAS Plus classes. SAS indicates that Business Class will include a dedicated section at the aircraft's front, partitioned by a curtain and equipped with more luxurious amenities, aligning with industry trends toward enhancing premium travel options.

SAS's website reveals that its current travel classes include SAS Go, SAS Plus, and SAS Business, with the latter available only on long-haul flights. The revamped business class aims to accommodate both regional and international premium travelers, though SAS has yet to specify the timeline for new cabin rollouts.
