American Airlines is set to enhance its service for premium cabin travelers by stopping the collection of headsets before landing, allowing uninterrupted inflight entertainment (IFE) from start to finish. This change, starting Wednesday, applies to Flagship First and Business class passengers on long-haul US-bound flights, domestic flights, and Hawaii routes with Flagship service. Passengers on outbound flights will experience this benefit later this year.

The move allows flight attendants to focus more on customers and landing preparations. "We have great news for our First and Business Class customers who love enjoying inflight entertainment up to the last minute," said the airline. "Starting tomorrow, April 23, customers in our premium cabins can leave their Bang & Olufsen headsets at their seats before deplaning."

American Airlines aims to bolster its inflight experience. "It’s also great news for our flight attendants who can focus on taking care of our customers during the flight instead of collecting headsets – all part of our commitment to enhancing the customer experience," the carrier stated.

Since 2019, high-end headphones from Bang & Olufsen have been provided to Flagship First and Business class passengers. The company is renowned for producing luxurious audio products and offers rewards for American's AAdvantage Executive Platinum members.

Seatback entertainment, featuring an extensive IFE library, is available on specific American Airlines aircraft. The fleet includes aircraft like the Boeing 777-200ER, 777-300ER, 787-8, and -9 Dreamliner, and Airbus A321s, while older models are being phased out for new versions. American Airlines offers complimentary WiFi to AAdvantage members and provides a variety of entertainment options through partnerships, including free AppleTV Originals access.
