Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have announced strategic relocations at major US airports, including New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. This development is part of their integration process following Hawaiian's acquisition by Alaska's parent company in 2024.

Hawaiian Airlines has begun operations from JFK's Terminal 8, moving from Terminal 4. Alaska Airlines is set to join Terminal 8 by October. This move aligns the airlines closer to Oneworld alliance partners such as American Airlines and British Airways. Hawaiian is expected to become a full Oneworld member by 2026.

In Los Angeles, Hawaiian Airlines has shifted its operations from the Tom Bradley International Terminal to Terminal 6, positioning itself alongside Alaska Airlines. This transition enables closer proximity to Alaska's gates and features joint access to the terminal's Alaska Lounge.

The collaboration extends beyond JFK and LAX. Hawaiian also moved its gates at San Francisco International Airport last fall, joining Alaska in the new Harvey Milk Terminal 1. At Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport, the two carriers now operate in close coordination. Plans are underway for joint operations at Sacramento, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas by year-end.

The completion of these terminal changes at JFK will offer improved passenger connections to other Oneworld partners, with first-class Alaska and Hawaiian passengers on flights longer than 2,000 miles gaining access to the American Airlines Admirals Club. Premium cabin guests between JFK and destinations over 2,000 miles, utilizing a lie-flat product, can enjoy the Greenwich Lounge, a facility jointly operated by American and British Airways.

These developments signal increased cooperation in operational efficiency between Alaska and Hawaiian while maintaining their separate brands. Additionally, they are planning a unified loyalty program set to be unveiled soon, building on reciprocal benefits already introduced for Hawaiian Miles and Alaska Mileage Plan members.

Next month, Seattle’s Tacoma International Airport will be inaugurated as a global hub for both airlines, featuring Hawaiian-operated flights to Tokyo's Narita Airport (NRT).
