Dennis Weber Chief Financial Officer | Swiss International Air Lines

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) had a favorable performance over the Easter period in 2025, with significant increases in both passenger numbers and punctuality. The airline successfully transported over 220,000 passengers during the four-day span from Good Friday to Easter Monday. This figure reflects a nearly nine percent increase compared to the same period the previous year. Additionally, punctuality saw an improvement, with around 79 percent of flights departing on time, marking an enhancement of more than six percentage points compared to last Easter.

SWISS conducted approximately 1,700 flights during this busy travel period, an increase of 100 flights from Easter 2024. The company's schedule stability was reported at 97 percent, with minimal short-notice schedule changes.

Oliver Buchhofer, SWISS Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the effectiveness of the airline's preparations. "We took a number of targeted preparatory actions on the ground and in the air to keep our operations as stable as possible, however challenging the conditions," he said. "The fact that we were able to significantly improve our punctuality while also welcoming more passengers aboard shows just how effective these careful preparations have been."

Buchhofer also praised the dedication of staff. "I’d also like to highlight the exceptional work that our people in all areas of our company put into looking after our customers over the busy Easter period," he added. "Our preparations are also already in top gear for the coming summer travel season, when we’ll again be doing our utmost to provide our guests with a reliable air travel experience."

Travel demand remained robust for both European city breaks, including London, Munich, and Berlin, and US long-haul destinations like New York, Miami, and Chicago.
