EVA Air, a Taiwanese airline, will begin non-stop flights from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport starting October 3rd. This new route will be part of the airline's expansion into North America, bringing its total operations in the region to 90 flights per week. Dallas/Fort Worth will become EVA Air's ninth North American destination.

Established in 1989, EVA Air is a member of the Star Alliance. Chen Hsien-Hung serves as the airline's CEO. The introduction of the Dallas route marks EVA Air's second destination in Texas. As EVA Air President Clay Sun remarks, this will make EVA the only Asian airline with two routes to Texas. Sun explains, "We are seeing strong passenger demand for this route due to the influx of numerous companies in recent years and strong economic and population growth. Dallas has become one of Texas’s economic and commercial centers."

The airline has been servicing the Dallas/Fort Worth area for cargo since 1998. The new passenger service will operate three times weekly, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flights will depart Taipei at 19:10 and arrive in Dallas at 19:40 on the same day. The return flight, leaving Dallas at 22:50, will reach Taipei at 04:05 two days later, considering the time difference and the International Date Line. The flight is expected to take 16 hours and 15 minutes.

EVA Air's expansion in North America includes routes to cities such as Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Vancouver. The airline foresees 9,132 flights and around 3,032,142 seats to and from North America across the 2025 calendar year, with a strong presence on the West Coast.

Additionally, EVA Air has further solidified its fleet expansion with an order for six more Airbus A350s and three additional A321neos earlier in January 2024.
