United Airlines operates a substantial fleet, larger than any other passenger airline, with a significant proportion being Boeing 737s. Out of 1,023 aircraft, 543 are Boeing 737s, covering various models including the 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, 737-900ER, 737 MAX 8, and 737 MAX 9.
Analyzing data from Cirium Diio, United Airlines' average 737 flights span 1,028 nautical miles from May to December. Notably, the Denver to Punta Cana route, starting on October 26 with a daily MAX 8 service, will cover 2,268 nautical miles, ranking as the airline's 10th longest 737 route during the winter season.
The longest 737 flights by United from May to December include routes such as Newark to Anchorage—a route established in 2013 and now operated by a MAX 8 instead of the 757-200 since 2022. This summer-seasonal route ranks first for long-distance travel. San Francisco to Panama City, a new route commencing on May 22, will hold the top position in winter.
