Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), a leading express transportation company, has partnered with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT) to deliver solar-powered water filtration systems to the Pa Deng community in Phetchaburi province, Thailand. This initiative aims to address the unreliable water supply issues faced by the community due to frequent power outages. By transitioning to solar energy, the community will have a more stable water supply for sanitation and hygiene purposes.

The project's implementation involved over 20 FedEx volunteers who collaborated with members of the Pa Deng community to set up solar cells and water filtration systems. This effort is set to benefit over 1,900 residents across four villages by addressing critical infrastructure needs.

"Water and electricity are fundamental to the well-being of every society. At FedEx, we are dedicated to delivering solutions that address the needs of communities where they arise," stated Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director of FedEx Thailand. "Through this initiative, we aim to empower the residents of Pa Deng by enhancing their access to these vital resources. I am incredibly proud of our team members who embody our commitment to do good and continue to support our FedEx Cares initiatives."

In addition to this water management project, FedEx has been committed to implementing sustainable solutions in Thailand, including last year's donation and installation of three eco-friendly waste incinerators and biogas systems in Pa Deng. These systems aim to replace traditional waste disposal methods like open-air incineration and landfills and provide sustainable options for organic waste decomposition while reducing toxic emissions.

As part of its global strategy to reach carbon-neutral operations by 2040, FedEx is engaging in various environmental stewardship practices. These include vehicle electrification, fuel-saving initiatives, sourcing renewable energy, and providing sustainable packaging solutions. The Pa Deng initiative is a component of the FedEx Cares global community engagement program.
