Scandinavia celebrates Midsummer with vibrant traditions and almost continuous daylight, drawing attention to its rich cultural heritage. The festivities begin in late June when neighborhoods fill with flower crowns, feasts, and folk dancing amidst nearly unending daylight near the Arctic Circle. The panoramic skies and bonfires complement the essence of this cultural gathering.

In Sweden, Dalarna provides a quintessential setting for Midsummer celebrations with its traditional charm and engaging activities such as maypole raising and folk music. Denmark honors Sankt Hans Aften, prominent in coastal regions like Skagen where sunset bonfires illuminate the beaches. For a more urban experience, Copenhagen offers family-friendly events at Tivoli Gardens and several city parks.

Norway's Lofoten Islands, located within the Arctic Circle, offer a distinct Midsummer experience featuring the Midnight Sun, with traditional bonfires on the beaches. Bergen, known for its scenic landscapes, holds musical performances alongside waterfront bonfires.

Delta Air Lines has enhanced travel options to Scandinavia, aligning with the growing trend of 'coolcations.' Offering seasonal services, Delta connects U.S. travelers with the Nordic region. New flights include nonstop service from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Copenhagen beginning May 22, and direct routes from New York to Copenhagen and Stockholm, as initiated on April 14.

Through a collaboration with SAS, Delta grants access to an expanded network throughout Scandinavia, providing flights to 35 additional destinations with minimal layovers. This partnership extends to 6 destinations in Denmark, 14 in Norway, and 15 in Sweden, all available for booking on delta.com with the option to earn and redeem SkyMiles.

Scandinavia appeals to those seeking relief from the summer heat or an encounter with natural wonders in sites like Norway’s fjords and mountains. With its cultural attractions and Michelin Guide dining, the region offers year-round appeal for travelers.
