Alaska Airlines has announced a new partnership with Philippine Airlines, permitting Mileage Plan members to redeem miles on flights to locations across the South Pacific, Asia, Australia, and beyond. This collaboration enables travelers to book flights with Philippine Airlines through Alaska's booking platforms, earn Alaska miles, and redeem them on flights conducted by both carriers.

Brett Catlin, Alaska's Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances and Sales, stated, "Philippine Airlines is a terrific addition to our roster of global airlines, offering world-class service and amenities." This partnership provides Alaska Airlines loyalists with increased redemption opportunities, especially for those with a collection of miles or credit card points that can be converted into its Mileage Plan.

From Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippine Airlines operates flights to four U.S. airports: twice daily to Los Angeles International Airport, daily to San Francisco International Airport, three times a week to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and five times a week to Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. These cities serve as hubs for Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines after their merger in 2024.

Travelers can now connect to a broad range of destinations from Manila to regions spanning the South Pacific, Asia, and Australia. Philippine Airlines maintains a varied long-haul fleet that includes the Boeing 777-300ER, Airbus A350-900, and A330, with many aircraft offering lie-flat business-class options.

The ability to redeem Alaska Airlines miles on an international carrier presents new travel opportunities. Alaska uses a distance-based award chart with rates "starting at" a set amount, allowing travelers to use miles efficiently.

Members can earn Alaska miles through various methods, including Mileage Plan flights, the Mileage Plan Shopping portal, and cobranded credit cards. Currently, members can transfer HawaiianMiles to Mileage Plan points, which will change with the development of a single, unified loyalty program. Additionally, Bilt Rewards Points can be transferred to Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio.
