American Airlines has announced the introduction of its new Flagship Suite seats on Boeing 787-9 aircraft, beginning with the Chicago to London route.

According to a press release on American Airlines’ official newsroom, these new suites will feature sliding privacy doors, direct aisle access, wireless charging, and a chaise lounge-style seat that reclines into a fully flat bed. These upgrades are part of the airline's broader effort to redefine its long-haul premium travel experience.

As reported by The Points Guy, the Boeing 787-9 will include 51 Flagship Suite business class seats and 32 Premium Economy seats in its updated configuration. American Airlines aims to increase the number of premium seats across its long-haul fleet by more than 45% by 2026. The redesign also features a modernized Premium Economy cabin with enhanced legroom, upgraded dining, and personal device charging capabilities.

This long-term investment is intended to align American's fleet with evolving customer expectations for privacy, space, and high-end amenities.
