Ten mainline airlines currently operate the remaining fleet of around 189 Airbus A380s. Although the Superjumbo is the largest airliner in the world, it does not operate the longest nonstop flights. These are managed by other aircraft like the Airbus A350-900ULRs and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. However, the A380 does conduct ultra-long flights, including one-stop routes.

A new airline named Global Airlines plans to begin transatlantic flights soon using ex-China Southern A380s. However, these do not appear in Cirium's data for 2025 and are unlikely to be among the longest A380 routes as they will likely fly from the UK to New York-JFK.

"Emirates operates a fleet of 116 A380s (six of which have been parked since 2020), British Airways and Singapore operate 12, Qantas operates ten, Lufthansa and Qatar Airways operate eight, Etihad and Korean Air operate seven, Asiana operates six, and ANA has three."

Qantas' daily flight from Sydney to London-Heathrow is noted as the longest-range A380 flight at 10,349 miles. This route includes a stopover in Singapore due to range limitations. "As part of Project Sunrise, Qantas is acquiring a fleet of long-range A350-1000s that are expected to eventually replace the A380 on the London route."

The article also lists various long-distance routes operated by Emirates without stopovers: Dubai to Auckland (8,810 miles), Dubai to Christchurch (8,719 miles), Dubai to Los Angeles (8,334 miles), Dubai to Houston-Intercontinental (8,165 miles), and Dubai to San Francisco (8,101 miles).

Eight routes fall within a range of 7,000 to 7,999 miles for scheduled flights in 2025. Among them are Qantas' Melbourne-Los Angeles flight at 7,920 miles and Qatar Airways' Doha-Sydney flight at 7,686 miles.

In addition to these longer routes are those between 6,000 and 6,999 miles operated by several airlines including Etihad with its Toronto service later this year.

"The number of other 6,000+ flights is too many to list here," but notable mentions include services from Emirates operating multiple destinations across continents.

The Airbus A380 celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year since its maiden flight on April 27th in 2005. The aircraft has carried over "300 million passengers" across more than "800 thousand flights." Despite being less favored by airlines due to inefficiencies compared with newer models like some variants of twin-engine Airbus planes—it remains popular among passengers for comfort reasons such as spacious cabins or quieter interiors.
