April brought significant developments in the hotel industry, including new partnerships and anticipated openings. Marriott's acquisition of the Dutch lifestyle brand CitizenM marks its entry into a competitive market where Hilton and Hyatt have been actively expanding their portfolios.

In Mexico, Raffles is set to open its first North American resort in Los Cabos' East Cape area by 2029. The property will offer 80 rooms, 46 branded residences, multiple pools, a spa, beachfront watersports, and signature bars. Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, described it as "a bold expression of our brand's commitment to remarkable design, sustainable practices, and the art of exceptional guest experiences."

The W Austin has unveiled its redesigned Penthouse I suite on the 16th floor. The 1,798-square-foot suite features panoramic views of Austin's skyline and Lady Bird Lake along with local art and high-end amenities.
