Montreal Metropolitan Airport, formerly known as Montreal Saint-Hubert Airport, has acquired two Striker 6x6 ARFF vehicles from Oshkosh Airport Products. This acquisition is part of the airport's transition into a major domestic hub in Canada, aiming to handle over one million passengers annually.

The vehicles were supplied through L’Arsenal, Oshkosh Airport Products’ dealer based in Quebec. Alexandre Séguin, Sales Manager for L’Arsenal, expressed pride in supporting MET's expansion with these world-class ARFF vehicles. "Our team has built a long-standing relationship with MET," said Séguin. "The Striker 6x6 is engineered to deliver exceptional performance and safety."

Pierre-Luc Clement, Fleet Maintenance Manager at MET, highlighted the importance of reliability and compliance with regulations in their decision to purchase Oshkosh ARFF vehicles. "The decision was based on the brand’s strong reputation and positive experiences of other airports," he stated.

The Striker 6x6 vehicles feature a modular cab design for visibility, TAK-4 all-wheel independent suspension for off-road performance, and a Scania DC16 V8 engine. They have capacities of 12,500 liters for water, 1,600 liters for foam, and 227 kg for dry chemicals. The Eco-EFP Foam Measurement System and Electronic Foam Proportioning System enhance firefighting efficiency while managing environmental impact.

MET is undergoing significant transformation with plans to open a new terminal and increase its capacity to four million travelers per year by 2025. The airport emphasizes sustainability initiatives including GHG emissions reduction and new shuttle services.
