The shortest Airbus A380 routes scheduled for 2025 involve flights operated by Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, both based in South Korea. Emirates, another major operator of the A380, has also conducted one-off short-haul flights with the aircraft.

The Airbus A380 is known for its long-range capabilities, typically serving high-density long-haul routes. However, it is also used on some shorter routes under 1,000 miles. Notably, airlines such as Qantas and British Airways use their A380s exclusively for long-haul services, while others like Korean Air and Asiana deploy them on shorter journeys.

Asiana Airlines continues to operate a fleet of six Airbus A380s. In May 2025, it is scheduled to fly these aircraft from Seoul-Incheon to Tokyo-Narita International Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. These flights cover distances of approximately 784 miles and 906 miles respectively.

Korean Air operates seven Airbus A380s but only four are currently in service. Its shortest scheduled route for May 2025 is from Seoul-Incheon to Taiwan-Taoyuan at around 906 miles. Korean Air had plans to retire its remaining A380s by 2026; however, delays in receiving replacement aircraft have postponed this timeline.

Emirates recently operated a one-off flight using an A380 from Dubai to Bahrain covering just over 300 miles. This flight took place on April 14, 2025. Emirates remains the largest operator of the Airbus A380 globally and continues to use these aircraft on various routes including short-haul services within the Middle East and South Asia.

Overall, while designed for long-distance travel, the Airbus A380 continues to be utilized on shorter high-density routes across East Asia and parts of the Middle East.
