Federal Express Corporation, commonly known as FedEx, has announced plans to enhance its UK operations with the establishment of two new logistics hubs. These hubs will be located near the company's existing sites in Kingsbury/Atherstone and Marston Gate.

This initiative aims to consolidate FedEx's current road hub infrastructure from five locations into two advanced facilities. The move is designed to integrate cutting-edge technologies that will improve customer service and support future growth. The new hubs are expected to be operational by 2029 and will have the capacity to sort 32,000 packages per hour. They will handle a variety of deliveries, including international freight and e-commerce shipments, which is anticipated to benefit UK businesses across multiple sectors.

Rob Peto, vice president of operations at FedEx, stated: “We are excited about plans to renew our hub infrastructure in the UK and commit in the creation of two new delivery hubs... This is a substantial commitment into the UK and will mean we’re well positioned for future growth with a dynamic, flexible and efficient end-to-end network.”

FedEx has been operating in the UK since 1984, providing transportation services for both international and domestic trade. The company currently ships to 220 countries and territories worldwide.

The multi-year project will not immediately impact FedEx employees; however, it may affect some team members' working locations over time. FedEx plans to collaborate closely with union representatives to ensure that team members receive adequate support during this transition.
