Etihad Airways has announced the launch of a global sale featuring new destinations across Asia, including Taipei and Sumatra.

According to Etihad Airways' official post on X, the airline initiated a global fare sale on May 12, 2025. This includes newly added destinations in Asia such as Taipei and Sumatra. The promotion encourages travelers to explore vibrant cultural destinations and unique landscapes across the continent at discounted rates. Bookings can be made through the Etihad website or mobile app during the promotional period.

As reported by Etihad Airways in a May 2024 press release, the airline announced the addition of ten new destinations to its network, marking a significant expansion of service. These new routes include several in Asia, such as Osaka, Colombo, and Kuala Lumpur, alongside Taipei and Sumatra. The expansion is part of a long-term growth plan to meet increasing demand for travel to and from the Asia-Pacific region.

The sale includes economy and business class fares on dozens of routes, with some discounts reaching up to 20%. Destinations in Asia were highlighted as part of the airline’s strategy to boost tourism and transit flows via its hub in Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways, founded in 2003, is the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates with its hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport. According to its official website and public filings, Etihad operates a fleet of more than 90 aircraft serving over 90 destinations across various regions including the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and North America. The airline is recognized for its service quality, innovation in premium cabins, and leadership in sustainability with an aim to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
